Those of us who write do so because we NEED to. It feeds our souls even as it challenges us. It keeps us sane and helps us understand the world and our own selves.
And yet we never make enough time for it. Well, this is your time :). Join me, Jane Cornes, and the wonderful Alice Night at my only Australian crea, tive writing retreat in 2026, as we take you on a journey of creativity and self-discovery in one of the world's most beloved wine-growing regions. You don't need to be experienced. You don't need to have a project in mind. You just need to want to explore new ways to write and expand your writing toolset in the relaxed, convivial company of other writers, guided by two highly experienced, passionate and supportive teachers. We will be staying at the delightful Adamsons Riverside in the Margaret River township, with its ducks, riverside walks and many cafes, bars and interesting shops within a few minutes' walk. And then there's the wine! Some of Australia's most iconic wineries will be on our doorstep (Leeuwin Estate, Vasse Felix, Cullen), along with over 100 cellar doors open for tastings. The shape of each day Your mornings will be spent in writing workshops. After lunch (including a couple of organised visits to wineries – as a long-time food journalist, I know the best places to go!) the afternoons will be your own – for beach walks, gallery visits, snoozing and, who knows, maybe even a little writing.... A daily writing deadline of 500 words will keep you focused, and every evening after dinner we will gather, to chat, to share and to enjoy the company of like-minded others. There's a communal kitchen for self catering, and loads of lunch spots just around the corner – including the acclaimed Margs Bakery. A $500 deposit secures your spot, with a further $1,000 payable on 30 June and the balance due by 31 August. Email me to secure your spot. |
