When does the retreat start and finish?
  • The first session starts at 4 pm on 14 August 2025. 
  • The closing session is on the morning of 20 August.

What if I want to bring my non-participating partner?
No problem as long as you've booked a private room. There is no additional fee, and they are also more than welcome to join us for evening activities such as meals, concerts etc.

Where is the retreat held?
At the Amaroo on Mandalay Resort on tropical Magnetic Island. Numerous cafes and a supermarket lie within a 10 minute stroll of the resort. The island bus stop is just outside the resort's front door.
What about meals?
This is a self catering retreat. You have your own kitchenette, and there are cafes and two supermarkets within a 12 minute walk of the resort.

What is the venue like?
Amaroo on Mandalay is a recently refurbished resort-style complex offering standard motel-style air-conditioned accommodation. Set in lush, tropical grounds, the resort features a pool, gym, on-site restaurant and bar.

What will the weather by like?
Beautiful. Perfect for swimming.

Is there WIFI?
Yes, in all common areas but probably not in your room.
Can you tell me a bit more about our accommodation?
Each air-conditioned room features an ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster.

Do I need to be experienced ?
Not at all. Whether or not you're an experienced creative, you'll find the sessions inspiring and accessible to all.

How are the classes structured?
All students are welcome to attend all or some of the workshops and classes.

Will I be left to my own devices outside of class times?
Only if you want to be. Most evenings, you'll be invited to join your teachers for an early dinner at one of the local cafes, a takeaway or a bbq at the venue.

How much is the retreat?
Twin-share air conditioned ensuite rooms are AU$1625.
Private air conditioned ensuite rooms are AU$2150.
All accommodation includes a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom.
