No matter what the story— whether you are writing a memoir, a biography (which is a different genre), a novel, or a script—you will need to understand the most important elements in telling a story and how they should be structured. Good writing… unless you are brilliant…  isn’t enough. You will need to understand the fundamentals of narrative structure: the critical steps in the plot; the essential elements in character; how to create believable dialogue that moves the story forward; and the essential art of exposition. Without the adroit employment of these critical components, your story may be in danger of becoming a floppy mess.

One whole day —from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm —always on a Saturday, will be dedicated to each of the narrative components:

• Character
• Dialogue
• Exposition
